Treatment: Keyhole LASIK (ReLEx® SMILE®), LASIK, or PRK
What is Long-sightedness (hyperopia)?

Treatment: Suitable for LASIK
Benefits for you
- Your life quality is increased, as you no longer need to wear contact lenses or glasses. You have a higher risk of catching a contact lens related infection by wearing contact lenses than during the surgery.
- Laser eye corrections have proven to be safe and effective. However, like any other medical treatment, it is important to choose an experienced and qualified surgeon.
- The procedure is quick – it lasts less than 10 minutes – and is generally painless. The laser is computer guided, which means that it‘s very precise and results are very accurate.
- With laser eye treatments, it is possible to correct most levels of myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (long-sightedness) and astigmatism.
Am I suitable for laser vision correction treatments?
Every individual is different, and the surgeon will be able to give you a final decision on whether laser vision correction treatments are right for you. For example, if you have dry eyes, the severity of your condition will determine whether you can have laser eye surgery. For women who are breastfeeding, you will generally be allowed to have treatment three months after weaning. Most people with diabetes or glaucoma will not be suitable for treatment, due to there being a higher likelihood of complications. However, do not hesitate to get in touch for a consultation to discuss your specific case in further detail.
Procedure
Laser vision correction treatments generally take 10 minutes each eye and does not require general anaesthesia. Actually, being put to sleep during Laser surgery does more harm than good. Patients should be awake during the surgery. In order for the doctor to perform optimally, he or she needs your cooperation.
If you fear you will have pain, do not worry: It is completely painless. First your surgeon, Mr Anandan will give you a mild sedative or other medication prior to surgery to help you relax, ease any discomfort and reduce nerves. Then, when you go in for your surgery, the team will administer the local anesthetic eye drops. You won’t feel any pain during the procedure.
Mr Anandan will be speaking to you during this quick procedure to get an idea of how you’re responding to the surgery. We strongly recommend to you to speak to some of your friends who did Laser surgery and get their experience of it. But we repeat again: It is a painless procedure, and it will be over before you know it.
